About SSA #31 
Greater Ravenswood Special Service Area #31 was established in 2008 to service areas on Lawrence, Clark, Montrose, Damen, Wilson and the Ravenswood corridor. The purpose of SSA #31 is to sustain the competitiveness of the Commercial, Industrial, and Residential districts, and clean, beautify and brand the area in order to create a more inviting, identifiable and attractive business district.

Glass etching removal and film installation program
SSA #31 is interested in reducing and eliminating the amount of graffiti and glass scratching that has affected storefronts and other buildings throughout our neighborhood. To do so, SSA #31 has unveiled a reimbursement program to assist property owners and tenants. SSA #31 will reimburse 75-percent of the cost of graffiti/scratch removal and 50-percent of the cost of film installtion and/or glass replacement. A maximum of $1,000 will be spent per location each year.

Sidewalk sweeping and clean up
As part of our administration of SSA #31, RCC has contracted with Neumann Family Services to provide sidewalk clean-up along the entire Special Service Area from March to October. NeumannFamily Services, which runs the Neumann Neighbors program is a social service organization which provides education, housing, recreation, rehabilitation, training, and employment opportunities to people with disabilities. Their mission is to integrate persons with disabilities and other life issues into the community and enrich their quality of life with choice and independence, and RCC is proud to share in that mission.
Attention contractors: If you are interested in submitting a proposal to provide sidewalk cleaning services, please review the 2011 Sidewalk Cleaning RFP, here. The RFP for 2012 services will be updated and on the website in January 2012.
Sidewalk snow removal
As SSA administrators, RCC is also responsible for snow removal and salting on the Greater Ravenswood SSA #31 route. This service will be provided anytime 2 or more inches of snow falls in this area.
The 2011-12 snowplowing contract is in place. Check back next year for new information.
Landscaping/ Holiday Decorations/ Special Projects
SSA #31 provides landscaping elements along the streets, in planters and along the Ravenswood corridor. SSA #31 also provides holiday decorations for the winter holidays, as well as special beautification projects, including power washing the sidewalks.
Pressure washing and landscaping along the Ravenswood corridor has been completed for this year. Check back after the first on the new year for any updated information.
The contract for Holiday Decorations is in place for 2011-12. Check back next summer for information on next year's contract.
