2010 Facade Rebate Program

The City of Chicago has announced the launch of its 2010 Facade Rebate Program, which offers rebates to eligible commercial and industrial businesses and property owners who complete qualified facade rehabilitation projects. An eligible “facade” is the front face or elevation of the building, which typically faces the street and contains windows and the principal entrance to the building.

Ravenswood Community Council’s Emergency CELL phone (Community Emergency Life Line) Program provides free 911-enabled cell phones to seniors and victims of domestic abuse throughout Chicago.

Greater Ravenswood- SSA #31

As part of our commitment to the Ravenswood community, Ravenswood Community Council administers Greater Ravenswood Special Service Area #31. This special district extends from Leavitt Street to Clark Street on Lawrence Avenue, from Ainslie Street to Montrose Avenue on Clark, from Clark to Seeley on Montrose, from Wilson Avenue to Argyle Street on Damen, from Hermitage to Damen on Wilson and from Addison to Lawrence on Ravenswood.

Technical Assistance to Business Groups

Through a grant from the City of Chicago Department of Planning and Development, Ravenswood Community Council works with local chambers or commerce and the Alderman to ensure the continuing health of our business community. We achieve this by providing technical assistance to local businesses, linking business owners with resources they need to remain viable.

Home Repair for Accessible and Independent Living

RCC's Housing Resource Center is a delegate agency of the City of Chicago Department of Housing. As a delegate agency, RCC provides our community with information on housing-related issues, problem solving, community events, workshops and housing fairs to assist low-moderate income homeowners.

Local Industrial Retention Initiative

New in 2010, the Ravenswood Community Council(RCC) in conjunction with 47th Ward Alderman Eugene Schulter, will serve as a delegate agency for the City of Chicago Department of Community Development's Local Industrial Retention Initiative(LIRI).The LIRI program provides business assistance to industrial communities in Chicago. In particular , RCC will service the industrial businesses of the Addison Industrial Corridor as well as the commercial businesses that occupy industrial space along the Rvenswood Corridor. The aim of the RCC's LIRI program is to provide companies with referrals to appropriate agencies in an effort to secure retention. Additionaly RCC will host a variety of events that deal with the different issues confronting the companies of our industrial corridors. Information will be made avaiable about incentives offered through the City of Chicago that range from tax incentives to business improvement rebates. City of Chicago Sign Amnesty Program

The City of Chicago is offering an On-Premise Sign Amnesty Program, beginning on April 15, 2010, and running through October 15, 2010. The program is an opportunity for voluntary compliance to avoid the possibility of future citations. Businesses benefit by having certain City fees waived.
